WILMINGTON, Del. — Philadelphia DA Larry Krasner is endorsing civil rights attorney Dwayne Bensing for Delaware Attorney General. Krasner, who last year secured his third term with his most decisive margin of victory yet, announced his support for Bensing in the Democratic primary via an op-ed in the News Journal.
"We are in a moment which demands leaders with a bold vision, willing to do whatever it takes to ensure everyone is treated fairly and equally under the law,” said Krasner. “Dwayne Bensing has dedicated his career to serving the people - in the classroom, in the courts, in prisons, and in communities across our region. He has the vision, the expertise, and most importantly - the fearlessness - to stand up to the establishment and corporate forces which too often drown out the voices of working people. I'm proud to stand with Dwayne in his campaign for Delaware Attorney General."
District Attorney Krasner has led a successful strategy in Philadelphia that demonstrates how being serious about safety - focusing on all of the drivers that address some of the root causes of crime - lead to safer communities and a more equitable justice system. Voters have responded by re-electing him to his office twice - including with more than 75 percent of the vote last year.
“I’m honored to have District Attorney Krasner’s endorsement in this race for the Democratic nomination for Attorney General,” said Bensing. “Delawareans deserve better than politicians who only stand up for the status quo and the corporate elite - they deserve a leader who will be relentless in pursuing safety, accountability, and justice for all.”
In his op-ed endorsing Dwayne, District Attorney Krasner noted:
